This is it, our full Halloween lineup:
- Next Sun, 10.20 - (House of Scorpio's) The Sinners' Market: Halloween costumes and vintage finds (of course), plus some truly alternative goods, including kinky and gothic wearables and art. It's also Gowanus Open Studios weekend, so there's so much more happening in our neighborhood this weekend. FB: https://www.facebook.com/events/616185322240671
- Fri and Sat 10.25-26 - 11th Annual Masquerade Macabre: Ghost Town on the Oregon Trail. After a few years of pop culture fun (Stranger Things!), we return with our usual eclectic lineup of danceable bands, DJs, dark circus and variety...plus a ridiculous live game version of the Oregon Trail. Heads up that the gorgeous loft we're taking over is smaller than our usual sprawling Halloween size, so tickets are limited -- especially if you want to play the game. FB: https://www.facebook.com/events/2846059365421997 | Tix: https://masqmacabre.brownpapertickets.com
- Fri and Sat 10.25-26 - (House of Scorpio's) Persephone: dark dance and secret dungeon Halloween. Mixing sensual performance, sensory experience and kink play with a goth dance party, Persephone is our homage to classic "alternative" parties of the goth underground. Room here is limited too, since we've got blacksmiths(!) dragging in some serious equipment. FB: https://www.facebook.com/events/520707572048061 | Tix: https://persephone.brownpapertickets.com

A marvellous and mysterious event...a Halloween celebration of the extravagant and the grotesque...an all-night spectacle of atmosphere, costumery and diverse entertainments...an explosion of live music, dancing, circus arts and late-night revelry, snake-charmed into an absinthe-fueled early-morning speakeasy.
This year, Masquerade Macabre goes West, along the Oregon Trail, to one of the many ghost towns dotting the map. Gather your team and hitch your wagons, and see if you can survive the arduous journey. But chances are, you'll die a myriad ways instead...
- Funkrust Brass Band: mixing punk, disco, EDM, metal, funk, Balkan brass and New Orleans second line with snazzy uniforms, choreography, megaphone vocals, and all-original music
- Shayfer James & his ghostly band: dark, danceable anthems of mischief
- Daring aerial shenanigans by Eva Rodriguez and Pablo Landeta
- Dangling dead saloon girl Ingrid Amelia Apgar
- Undead dance by Vesper Synd
- Sideshow lunacy by Trick, the Bastard
- Demonic dance floor by DJ Joro Boro
- Ghostly visuals by Geoff Matters
- Absinthe and other mind-altering potions by The House of St Eve (yes, t.h.o.s.e. cocktails...)
YES, you can actually play Oregon Trail! We bring you a live immersive version of the classic computer game. Bring your own team (6-10 people) or be paired up with other guests on the spot, and make it through the various challenges to cross the finish line in Willamette Valley. You will receive a custom "You have died of dysentery" pin (because let's face it, chances are that you will), and all teams that make it to Oregon will have their pins upgraded to stylish enamel. The team that arrives with the most points will also get a round of drinks on the house. Lots of photo ops and sudden deaths in between.
Old West characters, ghost gentlemen and ladies, dead saloon girls and barkeeps, Macabre carnival, aberrations of nature, cabinet of curiosities, dark Victoriana, evil funhouse, steampunk, Jan Svankmaier & Brothers Quay films, Freaks, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Think dark & creepy. Or dark & funny. Or whatever your Halloween costume happens to be. But if we have to ask, it's not a costume.
Gorgeously finished high-ceiling brick-and-wood large loft with roof deck. Address will be released 24 hours before the event.
"Live music, dancing, absinthe and the dark arts" - The New York Times. "Late-night absinthe-fueled revelry, with dancing, circus arts, and a Victorian-inspired dress code." - The Village Voice. "Expect off-the-wall antics" - The Huffington Post. "Denizens of the night...down absinthe until the sun rises." - TimeOut New York. "Absinthe-fueled debauchery" - Paper. "Vintage-inspired spectacle" - New York Press. "This quintessential New York experience, a costume-required masquerade ball, offers a cornucopia of pleasures guaranteed to keep you going all night (and morning) long" - Flavorpill. "Collection of artists who revel in all things exotic, sensual and creative" - Examiner
These events offer an amazing opportunity for capturing some of the most creative, colorful party goers in NYC. We allow cameras at nearly all events, but please ask if you want someone's portrait. If you're a professional photographer, get in touch -- we always offer free entry to photo & video professionals who send us their work after.
*All regular ticket tiers offer the same access to the event. Please buy at the level you can afford.
