Hello lovelies,

Thank you so much for an absolutely mind-blowing cabaret party last Saturday...wow! Our new space is absolute perfection for these kinds of events, with ample seating, plenty of floor space for intimate burlesque moments, larger stage for floor acts, and high enough ceilings for stunning aerial. We will be doing more...

...starting with the return of Swing House on Sat March 18. It's a similar format to Saturday's event -- a live danceable jazz band & live acts, a mix of seating & dancing -- and we *highly* recommend reserving tables, as those were absolutely the way to get the best event experience. OTOH, we also put up some *very* affordable Low Income tix, so there's a level for everyone. Yes, tickets are already on sale :)

But before that: there's the insane Mardi Gras brass band party coming in just two weeks! Expect about 50 musicians throwing it down by the end of the night; that's how these things usually go. Prepare to dance!

Meanwhile, we're hunting down King Cake and gumbo for you (leads welcome, as our usual resources are unavailable). If you want in on that, you need to grab your tickets by next week.

After a two-year pandemic hiatus, our joyful sold-out hit event is back for 2023! Dance your beads off to killer brass bands and enjoy authentic NoLA cocktails all night in the ultimate Brooklyn party loft. Find the baby in the King Cake, and be king for the night: you get a crown, mask, beads and a drink ticket. Wear your glittering best and take advantage of our Sassy Selfie Station, with boas, masks and other fun props.  

Featuring:
- 12am - The L Train Brass Band - a 30-person crew awarded Best Music Group at 2018 Coney Island Mermaid Parade, cranking out a wild mix of NoLA jazz, Latin, Balkan, hip hop, funk, R&B and pop.
- 11pm - New Heights Brass Band - seven-piece women-first brass band playing original music that fuses street-band style energy with jazz and funk
- 10pm - Off The Bar Brass Band - five pop troubadours infusing second line brass with Linkin park, Lizzo, and everything in between

Costume suggestions: masks, costumes, purple, gold, green, glitter, beads! We will have some masks available for sale, as well.

A classic speakeasy party in a secret Brooklyn loft, with live swingin' sounds by vintage jazz bands, blazing burlesque divas, exotic cocktails, and the best electro-swing DJs remixing and reinventing vintage grooves late into the night. "Gatsby-era fun with a twist of new-school vibe" (The Village Voice).

The night starts with an introductory dance class for swing basics by Brooklyn Swings, who teach at our loft every Tuesday night. Live music until 1am, with burlesque & variety during and between band sets. Electro-swing remixed vintage beats after, until the dancing is done.

Dress code (required): The Jazz Age never ended, it just got funky. Dress accordingly: "An event worth wearing that ridiculous zoot suit for." - TimeOut NY; "Corsets and top hats tweaked with studs and leather are totally appropriate." - The New York Times. Suggestions: vintage (1920s-1940s) with a modern twist, cabaret, burlesque, Weimar Berlin, classic Hollywood, classy, sassy, tailored, hats, feathers, sequins, beads. Effort required. Dress code modern-friendly after 1am for the electro-swing dance party.
