We're deep into October, and things are only ramping up. Are you joining us for the wild dance party this weekend? Our bday party and pop-up market next weekend? Halloween the weekend after that? So much to choose from!

Here's the shortlist of what's coming up over next month. Scroll allll the way down to see full details on all these

- Sat 10.14 - JaNk! dance party with Sxip Shirey & his band - doubly rare Sxip Shirey live appearance, as he's otherwise always touring elsewhere in the world -- and not just the solo sound, but the full dance band. A wild dance party with some of the most unusual music you'll hear anywhere.

- Thur 10.19 - Guest producer: Fusion Dance After Dark - the monthly dance event is back, with a kinkier twist for the spooky season.

- Next Fri 10.20 - G&S Loft 1st Birthday (FREE, open to all) - rescheduled from a very rainy weekend. Now with a brass band, plus a neighborhood parade beforehand -- and it's the official kick-off party for Gowanus Open Studios. As before, no tickets or RSVPs required (tho please RSVP on FB), just donate what you can at the door to help us offset the staggering expenses of opening & continued renovation. Your own birthday and other celebrations welcome; no fees or minimum spend required. Just show up en masse; we got room.

- Sat-Sun 10.21-11 - Goldmine pop-up market is back, and we're teaming up with Gowanus Open Studios for a full weekend of artists and vendors. There's still room for more vendors, tho the current lineup is pretty fab already.

- Sat 10.28 - Masquerade Macabre, of course. Expect the usual brass bands + DJs + crazy stage acts nonsense. Meanwhile, House of Scorpio is doing its own dark celebration on 10.27, so another wild night if you join as a member over at our sexier sister site.

//Trying something new! We've been getting inquiries about new people checking out HoS events just after the monthly mixer has passed. We're going to test Fierce! as a possible second monthly mixer where friends and future members are both invited.//

Calling all poly, swinger, kink, LGBTQIA+ and other "alternative" dating/sex/gender-aligned humans and their allies for a social & dance blowout in our new nightlife lair. We got lights & smoke & lasers, booming bass, spinning disco ball, swirling visuals, lots of dance floor, lots of couches, killer AC.

Queer DJs lay down an eclectic mix of happy hits & house beats. The night features our resident, underground fave DJ Illexxandra, and special guest Robinette Jones.

Dress code: your queerest self! Sparkly unicorns, leather daddies, LED aliens, fancy fairies, punk dykes, glitter glamour queens, sequin divas, kinky party monsters, dandy butches, neon rainbow bears. This party is inclusive of all genders & expressions -- except casual wear. Dress to dance!

HoS rules: Dress code required; HoS membership, PAL or prior approval not required; Code of Conduct always applies; no photos except in the designated front area.

Calling all goths, vampires & kinksters for a classic goth dance party! We will turn the lights down low, blast goth & industrial to dance to, and project dark visuals. Light kink play welcome, on our many soft surfaces or our St Andrew's Cross. We embrace all genders and sexualities and levels of darkness.

Special guest from LA: DJ Shiver has been bringing the best of darkwave, goth, industrial, and post-punk sounds since 2015. Having spun at Femme Fest LA, Defcon NYC, and co-founding clubs Dolce Vita and Physical Ruins, she continues to blend both beloved classics and the best of new dark music. She also runs Wire Trap music magazine featuring the best new darkwave and post-punk music and events.

Special guest DJ Joe Hart: DJ and event producer since 2014, Joe is the producer of SVMMON and co-producer of Procession dark dance club nights. Their focus spans all dark alternative with an emphasis on modern darkwave, EBM, industrial, post-punk, and goth. Joe has previously been a guest DJ at many venues and events, including Torture Garden NY, Dances of Vice, Defcon, Stimulate, Synthicide, Red Party, and more.

Dress code: goth, romantic, vampire, dark Lolita, neo-Victorian, steampunk, ninja warrior, fetish, Edward Scissorhands, at minimum all black / no streetwear.

We're firing up the mutant harmonicas, sticking a mic down the mouth of a sousaphone and inviting you to a surreal live-music-driven dance party. Dirty electronics and live musicians, regurgitating old genres like early ska, hip-hop, techno and house, and playing it raw, glitchy and original. The music is a raw sexy explosion of joy.

Sxip Shirey and his JaNk! Band have been rocking circus audiences in Sydney, Berlin, London and Bogotta and even played Madonna's birthday party. The first JaNk! party was a G&S party, and they are excited to return, with special guests in tow.

In honor of the spooky season, this month’s dance will have a kinky twist. Many of us have crossover in both the BDSM and dance community, and this month we are opening the space to play with both. Bring your dance shoes and fetish gear, and live out your kinky fantasies on the dance floor. We encourage you to dress sexy: bring a costume with a kinky flare or show off what your mama gave you.

As usual, our night will kick off with a dance class. Special guest The Dark Arts Teacher will show us how to specifically negotiate consent around kink connection in dance, as well as some dance techniques with a kinky flare.

After the class, come slip into the night on our dance floor with DJ Alfredo Melendez and DJ Dark Star. Our luscious play space features a St Andrew's Cross, a few hard points to hang onto, couches for resting and spanking, and a full bar and lounge to meet new dance and play partners. We're running until 1 am, so we can dance and play till we drop.

Presented by Arts Gowanus, Gowanus Open Studios is a FREE weekend of accessible-to-all art, with more than 350 artists and 70 venues in the greater Gowanus neighborhood opening their doors, and giving the public a rare glimpse inside the former factories, warehouses, and studio buildings of this vibrant neighborhood.

Kick off the big art weekend with a brass band parade and party.

7pm: Join HONK NYC! on an impromptu parade led by one of our fearless brass bands, snaking its way through eclectic Gowanus haunts and stopping at outdoor GOS art spots. The band  -- and your starting location -- will be revealed the day of the event.

9pm: The parade winds its way to Gemini & Scorpio Loft, an eclectic secret party space now celebrating its first year in its new 5k sq ft location -- just a few doors down on the same block from their previous location of 10 years. Come see the progress we have made so far; find out what we still want to build; dance on our disco dance floor; chill in our cushy lounge; imbibe in our jungle-themed bar; enjoy the vibes, the visuals and the beats. It's a rare open-house night in our magical space.

Bring some tipping dollars for the band, accepting donations along the parade and at the party.
