It's almost that time! Two huge weekends for us, and we hope to see you at both.

- Thur 10.19 - Guest producer: Fusion Dance After Dark - the monthly dance event is back, with a kinkier twist for the spooky season.

- This Fri 10.20 - G&S Loft 1st Birthday (FREE, open to all) - rescheduled from a very rainy weekend. Now with TWO brass bands, plus a neighborhood parade beforehand -- and it's the official kick-off party for Gowanus Open Studios. As before, no tickets or RSVPs required (tho please RSVP on FB, as it helps us plan), just donate what you can at the door to help us offset the staggering expenses of opening & continued renovation. Your own birthday and other celebrations welcome; no fees or minimum spend required. Just show up en masse; we got room.

- This Sat-Sun 10.21-22 - Goldmine pop-up market is back, and we're teaming up with Gowanus Open Studios for a full weekend of artists and vendors. There's still room for more vendors, tho the current lineup is pretty fab already.

- Next Sat 10.28 - Masquerade Macabre, of course. Expect the usual brass bands + DJs + crazy stage acts nonsense. Meanwhile, House of Scorpio is doing its own dark celebration on 10.27, so another wild night if you join as a member over at our sexier sister site.

In honor of the spooky season, this month’s dance will have a kinky twist. Many of us have crossover in both the BDSM and dance community, and this month we are opening the space to play with both. Bring your dance shoes and fetish gear, and live out your kinky fantasies on the dance floor. We encourage you to dress sexy: bring a costume with a kinky flare or show off what your mama gave you.

As usual, our night will kick off with a dance class. Special guest The Dark Arts Teacher will show us how to specifically negotiate consent around kink connection in dance, as well as some dance techniques with a kinky flare.

After the class, come slip into the night on our dance floor with DJ Alfredo Melendez and DJ Dark Star. Our luscious play space features a St Andrew's Cross, a few hard points to hang onto, couches for resting and spanking, and a full bar and lounge to meet new dance and play partners. We're running until 1 am, so we can dance and play till we drop.

Presented by Arts Gowanus, Gowanus Open Studios is a FREE weekend of accessible-to-all art, with more than 350 artists and 70 venues in the greater Gowanus neighborhood opening their doors, and giving the public a rare glimpse inside the former factories, warehouses, and studio buildings of this vibrant neighborhood.

Kick off the big art weekend with a brass band parade and party.

7pm: Join HONK NYC! on a renegade parade led by New Orleans' own Young Fellaz Brass Band, snaking its way through eclectic Gowanus haunts and stopping at outdoor GOS art spots. Starting location: Arts Gowanus' homebase, the big yard at 540 President St. Parade is on in case of drizzle; otherwise meet everyone at the afterparty.

9pm: The parade ends at Gemini & Scorpio Loft, an eclectic secret party space now celebrating its first year in its new 5k sq ft location -- just a few doors down on the same block from the previous location of 10 years. Come see the progress we have made so far; find out what we still want to build; dance on our disco dance floor; chill in our cushy lounge; imbibe in our jungle-themed bar; enjoy the vibes, the visuals and the beats. It's a rare open-house night in our magical space. Plus: second live music set by Brass Meets World, banging out your favorite covers of hits from the 90s through today.

Bring some tipping dollars for the bands, accepting donations along the parade and at the party.
