Hello lovelies,

It may seem quiet in G&S land, but in case you don't know: our sister community, the all-gender all-orientation sx-positive House of Scorpio, does 5-7 events each month. Pride especially is a busy time for HoS, so we wanted to share some of what happens with our G&S peeps. HoS is membership-based, but none of the events below require membership. If you do sign up, you get benefits from discounts to exclusive event access.

In fact, HoS is doing a big membership drive this month, with extra perks for those who sign up in June: stay with us a while, and get your 6th month (Nov) FREE, plus $15 tickets to all classes and FREE movie nights every month until then, regardless of your member level.

- This Fri 6.21 - FemFlirt - Bring your fem & NB friends for an intimate social and makeout party: we welcome all, from curious to gold star, to our safe, sexy flirting space. No more wondering if that cute girl is just being nice or is actually interested!

- Next Fri 6.28 - Dark DecaDance - queer-forward goth party - We've got two special guests for you this month: Defcon's own resident DJ Stalagmike + a short live set by queer musician Max Fractal (FKA Kim Boekbinder). For Dark Decadence, Max Fractal will bring deep beats for dark places. DDD happens every fourth Friday of the month.

- Next Sat 6.29 - Renegade Pride - This year's blowout features a special short set by queer musician Max Fractal (FKA Kim Boekbinder). For Renegade Pride, Max Fractal will illuminate the night with the bright sounds of queer utopian futures. Special DJ guest: our brilliant HoS regular Illexxandra. There's also a very special afterparty (also listed below), but you need to be an HoS member to get in on that.

It's been a common refrain that it's harder for women to flirt with each other, as they frequently can't tell how much flirting may be ok, who's straight and who's open, and whether a connection they may be feeling is a friendly one or one with potential chemistry to explore. And, when cis & hetero presenting, they are sometimes made to feel too straight for gay spaces, and invisible or too queer in mixed environments. The same frequently holds for GNC/NB folks, too.

This event is a small step towards diminishing pan, queer and gay femme/NB invisibility, enabling and encouraging those folks to connect romantically and physically to others like them, wherever they fall on the gender presentation spectrum. We hope to be a place of empowerment and support for your exploration, even if you're just starting out or are unsure about your orientation. Explore and push your boundaries in a safe space, while enjoying our lush intimate Loft and delicious cocktails.

We will start the event with social games and introductions to make everyone feel welcome. As the night progresses, we go from mixer to makeouts, with Spin The Bottle and other sexier games.

Dress code: dress in whatever makes you feel sexy, however feminine or masculine you feel. We won't enforce the dress code as strictly as at Lip Service, but we respectfully ask for no casual attire. You're coming to flirt!

Who can attend: self-identifying women and GNC/NB humans who want to connect with other women and GNC/NB humans. While HoS events are usually more pan-gendered and pan-sexual, we're going to keep this one as a safe space without cis men. Important: HoS is a TERF-free zone! Trans women are women, and you're always welcome here.

DDD is a queer-forward kink-friendly goth dance celebration, inviting all participants to let go, dance and play in our luscious private loft. We embrace all genders and sexualities and levels of darkness. Consent and polite party behavior strictly enforced.

On decks:

Resident DJ Shiver has been bringing the best of darkwave, goth, industrial, and post-punk sounds since 2015. Having spun at Femme Fest LA, Defcon NYC, and co-founding clubs Dolce Vita and Physical Ruins, she continues to blend both beloved classics and the best of new dark music. She also runs Wire Trap music magazine featuring the best new darkwave and post-punk music and events.

DJ Stalagmike began his career as resident DJ at NYC's legendary club Albion before gaining a residency at Asylum Guild in the basement of the iconic Pyramid Club NYC. He is the founder of Defcon, NYC's longest-running Industrial party, now in its 15th year. DJ Stalagmike has spun countless sets at northeast's top Goth/Industrial clubs, many legendary EBM and Industrial concerts, and even a few festivals such as Kinetik, Cold Waves and Darkforce.

Max Fractal (fka Kim Boekbinder) is exciting and terrifying - mixing sonic textures and electronic melodies to create a sound they call Queer Darkwave. It's dance music with a lot of feelings. We get asked all the time how people can join HoS if they are shy, don't have like-minded friends, lack PALs for play parties, have no idea how this whole thing works, don't feel like jumping into sexy activity but want to connect to open-minded humans, etc. This party is the answer!

Calling all LGBTQIA+, poly, kink, swinger and other "alternative" dating/sex/gender-aligned humans and their allies. We're creating a protected and judgment-free space for connections, conversations, community, games and interactivity. This is the key HoS event open to non-members. Come meet us before you join!

For those of you new to it all: direct introductions to HoS members new and old; facilitated discussions on poly, kink and swinger lifestyles; icebreaker games to welcome you to our club.

For our regulars: a way to ease new friends into our scene; a chance to meet all the new faces you may want to kiss later; a visit with the community even if your PAL is not around.

For everyone: tabletop and social games, both risqué and plain fun; a charming host to make the introductions and explain all things HoS and sex-positive, and a cozy setting for conversations and future kisses. Our main icebreaker game, HoS Guest Bingo, runs from 7:30pm until we have a winner: get to know everyone in the room, and win a drink if you complete your bingo card.

Miss Scorpio is back hosting the mixer! Come ask her directly anything you want to know about this community. We've been building it for you for 10+ years, and hope to be here for 10+ more.
