Fusion Dance is a magnificent blend of styles forming a fluid improvisational partner dance. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or a newbie looking to learn how to move your feet, this style is inclusive for all because of its diverse nature. We kick off each event with an introductory dance lesson focusing on basics of the dance style, followed by a consent talk. Afterwards, let loose on the open dance floor as our talented rotating cast of DJs send us through the night.

This event is specifically inclusive of all genders, orientations and ethnic backgrounds. Whoever you are, dress to express yourself and dance the night away. Solo folks welcome, as traditionally dance partners will rotate through the night.

DDD is a monthly queer-forward kink-friendly goth dance celebration, inviting all participants to let go, dance and play in our luscious private loft. We embrace all genders and sexualities and levels of darkness. Expect queer dance anthems and classic dark sounds.

On decks: Guest DJ Jackpot blends the old and the new, creating musical selections that are both familiar and fresh. She skillfully combines her favorite dark and danceable elements, reaching across genres for captivating synths, deep bass lines, memorable vocal hooks, powerful beats, and complex melodies. DJ Jackpot is well-acquainted with the Industrial, Techno, and EBM music scenes, having performed at both Dark Force and Terminus festivals.

Afterparty dress code: goth, fetish, romantic, vampire, dark Lolita, neo-Victorian, steampunk, ninja warrior. Effort required / no casual wear (ie no black t-shirt/jeans/sneakers). If you're coming to both show and party, please dress up!

We get asked all the time how people can join HoS if they are shy, don't have like-minded friends, lack PALs for play parties, have no idea how this whole thing works, don't feel like jumping into sexy activity but want to connect to open-minded humans, etc. This party is the answer!

Calling all LGBTQIA+, poly, kink, swinger and other "alternative" dating/sex/gender-aligned humans and their allies. We're creating a protected and judgment-free space for connections, conversations, community, games and interactivity. This is the key HoS event open to non-members. Come meet us before you join!

For those of you new to it all: direct introductions to HoS members new and old; facilitated discussions on poly, kink and swinger lifestyles; icebreaker games to welcome you to our club.

For our regulars: a way to ease new friends into our scene; a chance to meet all the new faces you may want to kiss later; a visit with the community even if your PAL is not around.

For everyone: tabletop and social games, both risqué and plain fun; a charming host to make the introductions and explain all things HoS and sex-positive, and a cozy setting for conversations and future kisses. Our main icebreaker game, HoS Guest Bingo, runs from 7:30pm until we have a winner: get to know everyone in the room, and win a drink if you complete your bingo card.

The body's largest sex organ is the brain. Sinema Club stimulates yours with films that are explicitly erotic, homo-romantic, or gender-exploring -- and always thought-provoking. A rousing discussion follows; drinking is encouraged throughout, and mingling happens before, in breaks and after. Plus: free popcorn from our vintage cart. You can also order in from the many restaurants around, and make it dinner and a movie.

This month's feature: Crash (1996)

David Cronenberg's "Crash" is about the strange lure of the auto collision, provoking as it does the human fascination with death and the tendency to eroticize danger. Most motorists will slow down to stare at the scene of a collision; they may feel their pulses quickening and become aware of the fragility of their own bodies. The characters of "Crash" carry this awareness a step further, cherishing and nurturing it. For them, a car collision is a sexual turn-on, and a jolting life force they come to crave.

The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, where it received the Special Jury Prize (with then-jury president Francis Ford Coppola noting that certain jury members "did abstain very passionately"). It continued to receive various accolades, including six Genie Awards. The film's initial release was met with intense controversy and opened to highly divergent reactions from critics; some praised the film for its daring premise and originality, others aimed criticism for having such a strange premise filled with graphic violence. It has since developed a cult following and is now considered to be one of Cronenberg's best films.

Special talk-back guest: joining us via Zoom after the film is Lisa Laman, a writer, podcast co-host, and film critic who has written a number of interesting pieces on the work of David Cronenberg -- especially from the trans perspective.

Sinema Club is curated and hosted by Phil Guie-Ng (@thatphilguymovies): an inquisitive, ardent longtime film critic who is dying to tell you about movies you haven't heard of yet. As a reviewer at the website Film-Forward, his self-appointed mission was covering documentaries and features about subjects who challenged conventional attitudes about gender, masculinity, and more. When Phil isn't writing about movies, you can find him in Brooklyn taking part in protests on behalf of basic human rights.
