One week to go till Halloween! While the G&S brass band Masquerade is Sat 10.25, House of Scorpio, our sexy sister brand, has its own fun events lineup over the next few weeks, and only a few of those require membership (which is instant, doesn't take approval or other extra steps, and starts at $5).

We're looking forward to seeing you next week, but we're considering making this our last Halloween party after 23 years. We are doing our best to keep the venue going with private events and our beloved queer/poly/kinky/sx-pos community House of Scorpio, but the big events like we used to do are becoming less sustainable all the time. Come celebrate our history and help guide our future -- all ideas welcome.

- [HoS event] This Fri 10.17 - FemFlirt + MeetMarket ($0-10, open to non-members) - Calling all singles and dating non-singles of all genders and orientations. Let's flirt! Half the Loft is dedicated to a safe and encouraging space for F4F & NB flirting, and half the Loft is for all-gender flirting. The bar is a no-cruising social safe space: friendly chat only. The apps will not save us...let's meet IRL.

- [HoS event] Next Fri 10.24 - Persephone ($0-50, members only) - Kinky cabaret meets dungeon play party, against our Dark Decadance goth dance backdrop. Dark music, dark vibes, kinky playtime. See and experience things you can't anywhere else. BYO toys and playmates, or tip our demigod dommes to show you the way. Approval NOT required, and you only need PALs in play areas, but yes, you need to be a member.

- [G&S event] Next Sat 10.25 - Masquerade Macabre ($30-60, open to all) - Funkrust Brass Band leads the dance party, and spooky variety acts fill in the pauses. Earlybird tickets available for just two more days -- until Friday.

- [HoS event] Thur 11.6 - Taste The Rainbow: community social ($0-10, open to non-members) - The all-are-welcome monthly gathering to introduce you all to each other, with table and icebreaker games to make the intros easier. Do you know that even at the $5 monthly membership level, you can attend this event FREE? Pretty handy, considering what's going on the following night...

- [HoS event] Fri 11.7 - Saints & Sinners ($0-50, members only) - The one and only pop-up skrip clerb fit for the HoS fam, with a lineup that will bring you to your knees. That's...as much as we can say, other than: YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS. Two of our HOLY-CRAP-DID-I-JUST-SEE-THAT faves are back for this one: Alaska the Lost Boy and Sideshow Scandal. This is Alaska's only NYC gig in many months!

- [HoS event] Fri 11.14 - Lip Service: pansexual makeout party ($0-25, members only) - A party where making out in dark corners is not just tolerated, but encouraged. Even if you're only playing within your closed circle, doing that without feeling like you're breaking the social contract feels pretty great. For you more adventurous folk, this is where the games get physical, too (Sexy Jenga! Spin the Bottle!). It's our signature event, and it's a ton of fun without a lot of pressure.

For those of you who always ask how to meet potential partners and play PALs, finally: two flirting parties in one. We'll divide our large space in two, and run the events simultaneously.

On the dance floor & stage - FemFlirt: fem & non-binary mixer & makeout party. In the lounge - MeetMarket: pansexual flirting party. In the bar - a neutral zone for everyone to take a break from flirting. Save it for your chosen half of the room (or if you're lucky enough, both halves).

It's been a common refrain that it's harder for women/GNC/NB folks to flirt with each other, as they frequently can't tell how much flirting may be ok, who's straight and who's open, and whether a connection they may be feeling is a friendly one or one with potential chemistry to explore. And, when cis & hetero presenting, they are sometimes made to feel too straight for gay spaces, and invisible or too queer in mixed environments.

This event is a small step towards diminishing pan, queer and gay femme/NB invisibility, enabling and encouraging those folks to connect romantically and physically to others like them, wherever they fall on the gender presentation spectrum.

Who can attend: self-identifying women and GNC/NB humans who want to connect with other women and GNC/NB humans.

For everyone: MeetMarket

We put our "no cruising" rule on hold and encourage all guests to shamelessly hit on each other. An all-gender, all-orientation flirting party to help you find a partner (or two) to cozy up with in the colder months. Our PAL rule is on hold as well: come alone or bring a stranger. Wondering where to meet up with your new app match? Bring them here. Invite all your single friends. Tell your mom.

Social games 9-10pm to help you connect with other guests.

We get asked all the time how people can join HoS if they are shy, don't have like-minded friends, lack PALs for play parties, have no idea how this whole thing works, don't feel like jumping into sexy activity but want to connect to open-minded humans, etc. This party is the answer!

Calling all LGBTQIA+, poly, kink, swinger and other "alternative" dating/sex/gender-aligned humans and their allies. We're creating a protected and judgment-free space for connections, conversations, community, games and interactivity. This is the key HoS event open to non-members. Come meet us before you join!
