Been a minute since we reached out, but G&S are still here, toiling away on our magical DIY lair and hosting House of Scorpio, guest producer and private events there.

Lastly: we're still hiring! We've been needing to expand our crew for a while, so if you've ever wanted to work in this bonkers industry, hit us up. What we need (experience required): speedy & social bartenders, barbacks / bussers / trash handlers, plus misc other event help, like door or (eventually) event & venue management. If you fill multiple roles, great! We love having a cross-trained team and being able to assign more gigs to core crew. Separately from those, we need a reliable & detail-oriented local cleaner just about every Monday. Every position is at least $25/hr.

This month, a 2004 cult classic by beloved trash master John Waters - "A Dirty Shame." We'll be screening the more scandalous NC-17 version, too!

People always ask if can join HoS if they are shy, don't have like-minded friends, lack PALs for play parties, have no idea how this whole thing works, don't feel like jumping into sexy activity but want to connect to open-minded humans, etc etc. This party is the answer!

Calling all LGBTQIA+, poly, kink, ENM and other "alternative" dating/sex/gender-aligned humans and their allies. We're creating a protected and judgment-free space for connections, conversations, community, games and interactivity. This is the place to start if you've never been -- and the party is always FREE if you're already a member.

For those of you new to it all: a place to be comfortable in your gender, orientation or relationship identity, direct introductions to HoS members new and old; open discussions on varied lifestyles; icebreaker games to welcome you to our club.

For our regulars: a way to ease new friends into our scene; a chance to meet all the new faces you may want to kiss later; a visit with the community even if your PAL is not around.

For everyone: PG-13 tabletop and social games, a charming host to make the introductions and explain all things HoS and sex-positive, and a cozy setting for conversations and future kisses. Be on time! Our icebreaker game, HoS Guest Bingo, runs from 7:30pm until we have a winner: get to know everyone in the room, and win a drink if you're the first to complete your bingo card.

Current host: Miss Scorpio is back hosting the mixer. Come ask her directly anything you want to know about HoS. We've been building this community for you for 10+ years, and hope to be here for 10+ more.

This month's feature: John Waters' "A Dirty Shame" (2004)

Set in the director's favorite playground of Baltimore, the film centers on Sylvia Stickles (Tracey Ullman), your average, sex-hating American mother and housewife who one day takes a hit on the head, transforming her into a nymphomaniac and drawing the attention of a sex cult leader named Ray-Ray (Johnny Knoxville). Waters' last movie to date, A DIRTY SHAME fearlessly skewers our nation's puritanical morality while showing off a veritable encyclopedia of sexual fetishes, done in an underground style that harkens back to PINK FLAMINGOS and FEMALE TROUBLE. For extra fun, we'll be screening the NC-17 rated version.

Sinema Club is curated and hosted by Phil Guie-Ng (@thatphilguymovies): an inquisitive, ardent longtime film critic who is dying to tell you about movies you haven't heard of yet. As a reviewer at the website Film-Forward, his self-appointed mission was covering documentaries and features about subjects who challenged conventional attitudes about gender, masculinity, and more. When Phil isn't writing about movies, you can find him in Brooklyn taking part in protests on behalf of basic human rights.
