Date: December 9th 2016

Hello lovelies,

We have some unfortunate New Year's Eve news. Due to effects of the Oakland fire on our DIY party world, neither us nor our venue feel safe in moving ahead with our original plan for our Labyrinth event (a full scale maze as your immersive playground). Current options are between changing our venue, our theme, or our execution of the theme. We're exploring all these as we speak, and should be able to give you final word on our plans early next week. If anyone has brilliant suggestions here, you're welcome to reach out.

You should also know that even though our magic loft already has a sprinkler system, multiple exits, fire extinguishers, wide doors & stairs, 20+ circuit heavy-duty electrical wiring, and a prohibition on all open flames inside, we're looking into yet more ways to make it fire-safe (fireproofing fabrics, installing exit signs, etc). Anyone familiar with this process who may want to help would be very welcome to lend us a hand. Let's keep our "safe space" safe.

In the meantime, plenty of other fabulous stuff coming up: - Sunday is our pop-up holiday market of handmade, vintage and thrift finds, with all the free/by-donation champagne you can drink. - Thursday is the conclusion of our Stranger Things big-screen nights. - As we promised in the immediate aftermath of the election, you're going to see us put on more activist and non-profit events in support of all those about to be deeply disenfranchised by our government. First up: Snatch Back! on Thur Jan 19: an outrageously sexy evening for women's reproductive rights, benefiting Lady Parts Justice League. Save-the-date below; more details TK, and please, get in touch if you want to donate a performance, experience or maybe a raffle item.

Cheers,

Snatch Back!

Info TK: http://www.geminiandscorpio.com/ FB: https://www.facebook.com/events/341261409570918/

An evening of sexy solidarity and kinky outrage to raise funds for the Lady Parts Justice League. Starring Dayna Kurtz, Tammy Faye Starlite, Eszter Balint and more outrageous special guests TBA.

The Lady Parts Justice League is a coven of hilarious badass feminists who use humor and pop culture to expose the haters trying to destroy reproductive access. We believe if there is not laughter, dancing and sexy time in your revolution, you need to fix that. The LPJL wants to lead by example showing fighting for equality is a way of life, not just a reaction to crisis, and we are connecting artists and activists around the country to help make that happen.

Do you have an outrageously alternative performance or experience you'd like to donate to the cause? Seeking collaborators and entertainers.
