We are SO EXCITED for what is about to happen. NYC is officially reopen, and we are throwing a huge wild dance party blowout to celebrate both Pride and reopening...next Saturday! The best part? It's in a spectacular outdoor spot, one of the very best in Brooklyn: a lush courtyard at the Industry City complex in Sunset Park. We've been invited to take it over with late-night shenanigans throughout the summer (we're calling it Brooklyn Wonderland: http://www.facebook.com/BKLNwonderland (please give it a like!)). Next Saturday's event is the soft opening, but we're already plotting for more. We're also inviting other producers to join us, since the space is absolutely giant. More on the party below. You don't want to miss this one. It's NYC like it used to be, deep in the wilds of Brooklyn, loud and proud.

A wild Pride takeover of the huge, lush courtyard at Industry City, soft opening G&S' "Brooklyn Wonderland" summer party pop-up in the location. Two dance floors. Banging beats. Circus shenanigans. Frozen drinks. Tasty snacks. Open skies. Let's kick off the hot vax summer!
Your fabulous DJs: Illexandra, Matty Gliteratti, Shakey. Extra entertainment TBA. Your best self captured by: photo genius Krys Fox, as seen on Hulu's Exposure.
Dress code: your brightest rainbow self! Sparkly unicorns, LED aliens, fancy fairies, glitter glamour queens, sequin divas, party monsters...with sensible dancing shoes (think asphalt & gravel). This is the Pride blowout you've been waiting for, so BRING IT. As always with G&S, effort required / no entry otherwise...but we'll help you at door if you're under-dressed. Are you bringing LEWKS? Impress the door mistress and get in FREE.
COVID safety: this party is 100% outdoors, and NYC is finally at herd immunity vax levels, hooray! Masks are welcome but not required, and are recommended for the dance floor if not keeping 6' apart. There's plenty of room to dance at a safe distance throughout the courtyard. We're collecting contact info on all guests for contact tracing purposes in an unlikely case of an infection.
Get in touch to participate: looking for queer DJs and big, splashy, colorful ambient acts (drag, go go, aerial, fire, flags, stilts...); queer POCs to the front. Paid & comp spots available.
Venue: what is Brooklyn Wonderland? Gemini & Scorpio's summer 2021 underground party takeover of the lush, enormous courtyard at Industry City, in partnership with Barrow’s Intense and Carreau Club. Party schedule TK to G&S mail list. Curious to host or co-host an event here later this summer? A COVID-safe immersive cocktail experience in a lovingly crafted jewel box speakeasy. Plum Blossom Parlor is a luscious indoor "garden" lodge, inspired by The Emperor's Garden -- a corner of Forbidden City palace complex in Beijing that was untouched for about 100 years & was being painstakingly restored for the last 15, to open in...2020. Our installation is just a tiny bit of love from Brooklyn to China, at a time when the world couldn't be more split apart.
The Parlor is designed for COVID pods of up to eight people (two minimum) and runs entirely unstaffed -- which means masks are not required once you're checked in. Handcrafted libations are pre-bottled & ready to enjoy on the spot or at home. A mini couch folds out, if you're booking for date night makeouts & pod cuddle puddles. Snack options are available by advance request. Simply book your time window & enjoy (book back-to-back slots to extend your time). You can also book the room for meetings, birthday parties, shoots, Zoom events, etc...absolutely anything, as long as no more than eight people are inside at any one time.
Please see our site for more info and reservations and drop a line for any custom arrangements.

CALL FOR ARTISTS
Found@Sea combines storytelling, ephemeral found object sculpture, collaborative art making and sustainability in a series of interventions that culminate in a participatory public event. The project solicits ten creators to construct sandcastles dedicated to lost items during a one-day event in Fort Tilden on August 7th, 2021 (time TBA). The event will invite participants to view the sandcastles and their stories, and watch them wash away with the tides. You can work with a team, or on your own to construct this sandcastle. We will provide you with a $150 stipend for your time, effort, and creativity. Application due on June 22.
DANCE: Platform 2021: The Dream of the Audience
Hosted by Danspace Project & curated by Judy Hussie-Taylor, a digital Platform featuring acclaimed artists and past Platform curators, each with longstanding relationships to Danspace: Ishmael Houston-Jones, Okwui Okpokwasili, Eiko Otake with Joan Jonas, and Reggie Wilson. New short video works by the artists, created while in-residence at the church, will be screened each Friday. Mondays will feature Danspace archival footage. In two Conversations Without Walls, Lydia Bell and Kristin Juarez will activate these archives. The Journal will also include new written works by Writer-in-residence, Maura Nguyen Donohue. THEATER: Post Theatrical
We are a group of theater artists and companies joining forces during the pandemic to produce mail-based theatrical experiences. Wildly varied in form, content, and duration, these experiences have been intentionally built for increased audience access and inclusion beyond that which is possible in typical live theater. A one-on-one theater performance, now presented live over Skype. The performance is about memory, but even more so, it is about relationship between performer, audience member, and author. What is the responsibility of the audience member, and how is it felt differently when there is only one audience member? Who is the story teller, the author or the performer? What happens to a memory that two people share after one of those people is gone? With a rotating cast of actors, including Elizabeth Chappel, Joshua Coleman, Andrea Gallo, Jan Leslie Harding, Allison Hiroto, Yvonne Roen, and Melissa Rakiro. (Skype, see site for details, FREE)
THEATER: 24 Hr Plays’ Viral Monologues
New monologues written, rehearsed, recorded and released on IGTV in 24 hours. (24hoursplays online, see site for details, FREE/sugg don)
