Hello lovelies,

Just a few more days till we get down in feathers and fringe! This is perhaps a good time to remind you that buying tickets to our events is the best way to support G&S and our new location. We're still completely DIY, with no outside backers, and we haven't even run a fundraising campaign while keeping the venue open & continuously improving since this summer. Buy tickets! Tell your friends about our parties! Send donations (see signature)! We hope to continue to be here for you into the future, but these early days are very tough.

Having said that, here's what's coming up for G&S:

- This Sat Apr 15 - 15th Anniversary of Swing House, our "remixed" 1920s speakeasy, with live jazz & swing, and burlesque & circus acts, all acting as backdrop for your fabulous outfits and dance moves. We switch it up with electo-swing after the live music is done, to keep you dancing into the night.

- Sat Apr 29 - we invite you Back to the Garden for an Eden-themed spring masquerade party. More details & party elements TK, but basic info is below, and tickets are already on sale.

Also -- if you're into that other House of Scorpio thing we do, there's a makeout party this Friday...see the HoS site for details.

A 1920s speakeasy cabaret party in a secret Brooklyn loft, with live swingin' sounds by vintage jazz bands, blazing burlesque divas, stunning variety acts, exotic cocktails, and the best electro-swing DJs remixing and reinventing vintage grooves late into the night. "Gatsby-era fun with a twist of new-school vibe" (The Village Voice).

The night starts with an introductory dance class for swing basics by Brooklyn Swings, who teach at our loft every Tuesday night. Live music until 1am, with burlesque & variety during and between band sets. Electro-swing remixed vintage beats after, until the dancing is done.

Featuring:
- Three sets of joyful vintage jazz & swing gems by Danny Lipsitz & The Brass Tacks
- Risqué burlesque by Greek goddess Pandora and recently crowned Queen of Hollywood Burlesque Fest Audrey Love
- Champagne bottle walk by The Muse / ABCirque's own Butchie
- Acro balance by the fabulous Butch & Buttercup

Dress code (required): The Jazz Age never ended, it just got funky. Dress accordingly: "An event worth wearing that ridiculous zoot suit for." - TimeOut NY; "Corsets and top hats tweaked with studs and leather are totally appropriate." - The New York Times. Suggestions: vintage (1920s-1940s) with a modern twist, cabaret, burlesque, Weimar Berlin, classic Hollywood, classy, sassy, tailored, hats, feathers, fringe, sequins, beads. Effort required; if in doubt, go more formal. Dress code more relaxed after 1am for the electro-swing dance party.

Arrive early to indulge in the decadent baked goods spread by House of Good Deeds. DJs keep you dancing in between and after the live acts (lineup TBA). Plus: DIY photo booth with fun masks and accessories to let your inner deviant run wild.
