This weekend and next hold two big dance parties that are close to our hearts: live brass & drums and an all-queer DJ lineup. We hope you join us at either or both!

And then we go in a totally different direction for dance...slow dance!

- Sat 6.17 - Sea Creature Stomp - after the longest pandemic pause, the G&S post-parade bash is back! Brass bands, DJs, pulsating dance floor, cozy couches...classic summertime Brooklyn loft bash.

- Sat 6.24 - Renegade Pride - the big colorful dance bash with an all-queer DJ lineup. You know how we rock this one, and it'll be amazing. Grab those tickets early before the cheaper tiers sell out.

- Sun 7.9 - Dance Hall of Languid Delight - a slow dance party with lessons, dance cards, and matrons to match dancers -- to a vinyl-only soundtrack.

After the longest pandemic pause, the G&S post-parade bash is back! With brass bands, dance beats, pulsating dance floor, lots of cozy seating, photo booth wall for all those mer-selfies. Classic summertime Brooklyn loft party...if it happened under the sea.

With:
- HONK Family Band - NYC's newest block party band, covering everything from Talking Heads and Nirvana to Pharoah Sanders and Rebirth Brass Band
- Mambembe - Afro Brazilian samba-reggae percussion ensemble

After the bands, DJs keep us dancing with tropical bass until our mermaid tails fall off.

Dress code: all sea creature everything.

Closest subway from parade: express B/D/N/Q to Atlantic-Pacific (or switch to R for local Union stop). Lots of great restaurants in the area to grab a meal before the party.

Our annual dance party blowout, now in our new party space: lights & smoke & lasers, booming bass, spinning disco ball, lots of dance floor, lots of couches, killer AC. Underground faves DJs Illexandra & more keep your booty bouncing on the dance floor while go go, flow & pole acts keep up the vibes. Your best self captured by: photo genius Distilled Studio in our custom photo booth.

Get in touch to participate: looking for queer DJs and big, splashy, colorful ambient acts (drag, go go, aerial, flags, stilts, pole...); queer POCs to the front. Paid & comp spots available.

Dress code: your queerest self! Sparkly unicorns, leather daddies, LED aliens, fancy fairies, glitter glamour queens, sequin divas, kinky party monsters, neon rainbow bears...with sensible dancing shoes! This Pride is inclusive of all genders & expressions. As always with us, effort required / no entry otherwise...but we'll help you at door if you're under-dressed. Are you bringing LEWKS? Impress the door mistress and get in FREE.

COVID safety: Proof of vaccination is required. Masks are welcome but not required, and are recommended for the dance floor if not keeping 6' apart. We're collecting contact info on all guests for contact tracing purposes in case of an infection.

Inspired by the dance halls of the early twentieth century and slow dancing from junior high school, The Dance Hall is an evening filled with tantalizing restraint.

Participants are given dance cards to arrange partnered prances for the night, and a slow dance lesson begins the evening. Wallflowers beware: you will be matched up by our roving matrons (note: gender is irrelevant for partner dancing). The esteemed DJ James Mulry delivers three sets of songs exclusively via vinyl record: all slow dances, all night. Hosted by the illustrious Kate Brehm.  

Dress as your most magnificent self.

Arrive on time to start filling your dance card. Dance lesson and evening instructions at 7:30pm. Dance card music sets begin at 7:45pm & end at 10:30pm; intermission between sets; free dance after.
